Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Sports Hero ("we," "us," "the app") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Sports Hero, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

Information we collect

When you create and use a Sports Hero account, we collect:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, gender, and age.
• Location information: city, state, zip code, address, and — if you grant permission — your device's GPS location, used to show players, teams, and matches near you. Your address is kept private and is never shown to other users.
• Profile content: your profile photo and an optional introduction photo/video.
• Sports activity: match videos and photos you post, captions, comments, ratings, player stats you enter, team and match information, and who you follow, favorite, or connect with.
• Messages: direct messages you send to your connections within the app.
• Sign-in information: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider.
• Device permissions: camera, photo library, and microphone (to record and upload videos/photos), and location (to show nearby players, teams, and matches). You control each of these individually in your device settings.

We do not access your device's contacts.

How we use your information

• To create and operate your account and profile.
• To let you post, view, and interact with sports content, teams, and matches.
• To connect you with other players, teams, and matches near you.
• To send you account-related emails (password reset codes, sign-up confirmation, and replies to messages you send us).
• To keep the app secure and prevent abuse (for example, rate-limiting spam).

What other users can see

Your name, city, state, profile photo, posted content, and player stats are visible to other users. Your phone number is only visible to others if you choose to make it visible in Account Privacy settings. Your exact address, zip code, and email are never shown to other users.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that operate the app on our behalf:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
• Resend — delivers account-related emails (password reset codes, sign-up confirmation, and contact form messages).
• Google and Apple — if you choose to sign in with those providers.

We may also disclose information if required to by law.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → menu (☰) → "Delete account" — this immediately and permanently removes your account and associated content, and cannot be undone.

Your choices

• You can edit your profile information at any time from the Profile tab.
• You can control whether your phone number is visible to others in Account Privacy settings.
• You can grant or revoke camera, photo library, microphone, and location permissions at any time in your device settings.
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time (see above).

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to register for Sports Hero. Users under 18 may only register with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
